Accreditation
MCS / Alim Academy is accredited by Cognia and a member of the Islamic Schools League of America (ISLA) — upholding the highest standards in academic quality and professional Islamic education.

Cognia Accredited Since 2022
MCS / Alim Academy was officially awarded Cognia accreditation on June 17, 2022 — recognized by NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI, three of Cognia’s regional accrediting bodies.
What Is Cognia Accreditation?
Cognia (formerly AdvancED) is a globally recognized, nonprofit accreditation body serving more than 36,000 institutions across 85 countries, representing over 25 million students. Accreditation is awarded only to schools that demonstrate rigorous adherence to standards of quality, continuous improvement, and student-centered learning.
The accreditation process involves a comprehensive, multi-year review of every dimension of school performance — curriculum alignment, instructional practices, leadership, governance, and family engagement. Schools undergo periodic on-site reviews by trained Cognia evaluators to ensure ongoing compliance and growth. It is not a one-time certification; it must be actively maintained.
Why Accreditation Matters
Cognia accreditation is not simply a badge on a wall — it is an ongoing commitment to excellence that brings real, measurable benefits to every student and family at MCS / Alim Academy:
- Independent validation — An external body confirms our academic programs meet nationally and internationally recognized quality benchmarks — not just our own assessment.
- Transferable transcripts — Students’ coursework and records are recognized by colleges, universities, and other schools, ensuring smooth transitions at every stage.
- Continuous improvement — Accreditation requires us to regularly evaluate our own performance and implement data-driven improvements across all areas of school life.
- Accountability — Our school is held to documented standards in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and leadership — verified by external reviewers.
- Faith-integrated excellence — Cognia’s process affirms that a strong Islamic educational foundation and high academic achievement reinforce rather than conflict with each other.
What This Means for Your Family
